The 2010 Landlord & Letting Awards will be hosted by one of the UK's most famous 'HMO residents' - winner of TV's first ever Big Brother - businessman, TV presenter and landlord Craig Phillips.

 

 

Back in the 1990's Craig set up his own building company and began to build his own property portfolio in the process, renting out homes to families in rural locations.

 

After 3.7 million viewers voters declared Craig the winner of the first ever series of Big Brother in 2000, he has raised over half a million pounds for charitable causes, set up the largest independent construction training centre in the North West and been racing around the country presenting or appearing as the resident building or DIY expert on various TV programmes for the BBC, ITV and many other channels,  as well as for his own production company, Avent Productions, established in 2003.

 

 

Whilst working on one of his first ever TV shows on location in Birmingham, Craig decided that, as he wasn’t spending time at his own house, it would be wise to enter the Houses in Multiple Occupation market and so proceeded to convert it into a 5 bed shared house.

 

Today, Craig has 30 dwellings in his portfolio which are in a mix of locations. These range from a large cottage, modern luxury city apartments, Victorian grade 2 listed houses, detached and semi detached houses.
